St. Louis, Missouri (March 27, 2019) – INTERTEL, the nationally recognized leader in Medical Canvassing, today announced the hiring of Joseph E. Stephenson, CIFI, CSMIE as Director of Digital Intelligence Solutions. In the newly created position, Stephenson will lead INTERTEL’s Digital Intelligence Solutions division, continuing to build the company’s brand as it enhances its service offerings and moves to target new claims industries to benefit a growing clientele.

With 30 years of experience in both civil and criminal investigations, Mr. Stephenson is considered an expert in the field of social media and open source intelligence (OSINT) research and has lectured internationally to insurance, finance, and government professionals on how to leverage digital resources and to think outside the box with today’s available data.
Before joining INTERTEL, Stephenson was the Managing Director of Special Investigations for Hagerty Insurance Agency LLC and played a pivotal role in developing their Special Investigations Unit and anti-fraud initiatives. He has been a leader in the insurance anti-fraud arena, holding a Board of Directors position with the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU), Past President of the New England Chapter IASIU (NEIASIU), and currently a Board member with the Northeast Chapter of International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (NE-IAATI), as well as sitting on several committees for their International organization (IAATI). He writes a monthly column for SIU Today magazine on digital investigations and has been a featured columnist in the APB magazine and PropertyCasualty360.
